Burleigh Heads (Week 4)
This past Friday night was a pretty tough game..the top two teams battling for the number 1 and 2 spot in the league. Burleigh Heads vs Nerang FC. Even though it’s only the third game of the season, this game is always a fun one for all the locals. Unfortunately, we fell 2-0 to Burleigh after a quick two goals against us in the first 15 minutes of the game. To make matters worse, one of our guys got sent off on a red card so we had to play one man down for more than half of the game…Getting out of bed was a bit rough the next morning as each movement meant the possibility of a leg cramp, which let me tell you, is the absolute worst pain in the world. However, I was really proud of the guys and the hard work everyone put in to keep a clean sheet with only 10 men for the rest of the game. Looking forward to leg 2 and some revenge against them in about 8 weeks.
Non Soccer Related

Since soccer only takes up my late afternoons and evenings of every day of the week, I decided to try and use my Butler education for something…I know can you believe that? That’s probably the most mature sentence that has ever come out of my mouth..
But as of Wednesday afternoon, I am officially a professional Academic Trainer for A Team Tuition! Thankfully, the company has been very cooperative and understands that I can only work with clients in the morning and early afternoon because of soccer. The picture below is actually the view right outside my office which is pretty cool. Basically here’s what the job entails: I am a mentor and tutor for students from any school or college in the Queensland area. Because of my mathematics degree, I’m the only employee in A Team Tuition who can help students with any level of math..which I think is kinda cool and means that I’m basically always on high demand for students. I have the opportunity to travel to the students home which I like because it gives you a chance to become more personable and get to know them outside of school. However, many clients come to the office to get help as well. I’m really excited for this opportunity to be able to follow my dream with soccer and have the chance to make an impact in many students’ lives as well.
I also want to take a second to point out that I have not mentioned one thing about the food yet in Australia..which is very uncommon of me considering that I am hungry every 5 minutes…I’d like to dedicate this next post to why the best burgers are found right here in New South Wales, Australia.

Let me tell you how amazing of a decision this was.
First off, the burger I got was called Ya Mum..Definitely got a kick out of that.
On the right, you’ll see a picture of what my burger looked like and I can vouch that it is by FAR the best burger I have ever had…
Secret Recipe: A juicy pressed wagyu beef patty with maple smoked bacon, jack cheese, and topped with peppered fries..just an absolute stunning masterpiece. 10/10 in both looks and taste. Well done Australia👏👏👏
And to top off the week, Sam took me downtown to Surfers Paradise where we had the opportunity to see an Australian singer named Daryl Braithwaite perform for free in front of thousands of people. Such a cool environment to be apart of with so many Australians and to enjoy some good music as well.
Verse of the Week: "In everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus" -1 Thessalonians 5:18
Grind. Believe. Achieve.
Eric I thought I taught you to eat better than that...
