About Me

Hi my name is Eric Leonard and welcome to my Journey to Aussie blog. Follow my story as a first year professional soccer player in Australia with aspirations to play at the highest level possible. Here is a quick bio of me:

I have just recently graduated from Butler University with my Bachelor of Science focusing in Mathematics. I played four years of Division 1 soccer at Butler as the starting defensive midfielder. My junior and senior year, I helped captain Butler to its first Big East Tournament Championship, Big East Conference Title, and a Sweet Sixteen appearance in the NCAA. In 2017, I played for OKC Energy FC U23 Men's PDL team in the summer leading up to my senior year. I have had the opportunity to travel with semi-pro team Bridges FC over to Sweden, Denmark, and Finland, where I got to experience the level of play against first and second division teams.

I am excited to expand my horizon as I begin my career in the beautiful country of Australia. I hope to captivate some of the positives and negatives in this blog that come with the pure "grind" of being a professional athlete. I hope you enjoy it!
